The work presents one of the prominent ecclesiastical forms of the first Christian centuries, the holy martyr Pio, Bishop of Rome (140-155 AD), who, thanks to his multiform and multifaceted ministry during  the time of persecution, established the Christian faith in his flock in Rome, thus proving a diachronic prototype of a faithul pastor and shepherd.
